MT ↔ ISO

MT210 ↔ camt.057

1 pair on this page · Use case: Reporting

Direct CBPR+ replacement

Business purpose

Notice to Receive — sent by an account owner (or a party acting for them) to their account-servicing institution as advance notice that funds will arrive for credit to the account, so the receiving bank can anticipate and match the incoming payment.

What does NOT map cleanly

camt.057 sits in ISO 20022's cash-management (camt) family rather than the CBPR+ cross-border payments rulebook that governs pacs.004/pacs.002, so 'CBPR+ replacement' is a loose fit even though camt.057 is SWIFT's clearly designated successor message with a published field-level translation example. The ISO 'Notice to Receive' family is bigger than MT210 alone: camt.058 (cancellation of a prior notice) and camt.059 (status report on whether the expected funds arrived) have no MT210 equivalent at all — that lifecycle is new. camt.057 also carries elements with no FIN counterpart (UETR, structured purpose codes, proxy account identification) and supports multiple expected-item entries per message.

Migration notes

MT210 to camt.057 is a live, already-implemented translation pair from the 2020-2021 ISO 20022 maintenance cycle — it is not gated behind the November 2025 CBPR+ cross-border cutover, since it sits in cash reporting rather than payment clearing.
